Jacobean Wool String Bag...

This String Bag is handmade from a Creamy Round Check wool fabric.  I have hand pieced the Jacobean Flower from wool that I have hand dyed.
The flower is embellished with hand embroidery.

I have my String Bag hanging from an old doorknob in my kitchen.
I dropped a ball of cotton string into the bag and just pull
the length of string I need, to tie up spices in a bag for soups and stews.
(Tip:  use a coffee filter as a "bag" for spices.)

These two bags were a recent Custom Order.
They were fun to make and I love how they serve a purpose
in the kitchen or wherever you hang them.

If you would like your own String Bag
they are available in my Studio.

  2. Hi Rose-
Just stopping by for a visit.
Your bags are adorable. I love them. I had never heard of 'String Bags' before. How cleaver. I bet there are at least a hundred other uses for such a cute bag.
Your embellished crazy quilt block is beautiful as well.
As always, your work simply amazes me, and I enjoy visiting.
We'll see each other again soon.
