Beachy Colors And Textures...

A Handful of Baby Clams...
beautiful beachy colors and textures.

If you place these tiny creatures on wet sand, they will, (quick as a wink),
dig themselves into the sand for protection.

I have just returned from a week at Ocean City, New Jersey, with my family.
Pure heaven !
(Think - big family, lots of food - all of this, a block off the beach.)

Seaweed that has washed up on the shore.

I am drawn to colors and textures wherever I go.

This Beauty had so many shades of green...   I couldn't resist taking a picture.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(The minute I saw this snake, I began dreaming of wool colors !
Am I the only one that thinks this way ??)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We spent a day at the Cape May Zoo, in New Jersey.
It is an amazing Zoo with free admission.
(They ask for a donation as you enter the park.)
The Zoo is huge and well kept.

Love working with the plates on a Turtles shell.

Perfect textures.  All these patterns, lined up so nicely !

Vacation...
 slow pace, good food, lazy days, NO computer,
walks on the beach, family games,
boardwalk fudge with my coffee (every morning !),
cooked breakfasts, no alarm clock,
flying kites, cool ocean breezes

Now, back to real life...

It is always good to be back home and fall into a regular routine ;)
Looking forward to the week ahead.
Rose

  2. It sounds wonderful. I love all of the colors that you see in your head. I know that when I am dying wool, I am always searching for the color I see in my head. I think that is why I love dyeing wool so very much, it is like a dream I am searching for to make come true. Or trying to touch a smell. I love the green of that snake.

  5. Good Morning Rose, It sounds like you had a wonderful time in New Jersey with your family, with so much to do and see.
    The colours of green on the snake are just beautiful and actually quite mesmorising.
    Oh yes, I do like the sound of boardwalk fudge with a cup of coffee each morning, as that really appeals to my sweet tooth.
    Like you, I love travelling and seeing new places, but you know I love it when I arrive home and put the key in the front door, I always feel an overwhelming feeling of peace.
    Have a lovely week.
    Best Wishes

  6. Hi Rose, I enjoyed reading your blog for the first time today. It looks like you had a great time at the beach. I'm a beach baby myself from Florida. Now, I live in Georgia. I love the colors and textures you see. The snake...I'm not crazy about. Haha Can't wait to read more of your blog. I would love for you to visit mine!
