A "Smack Of Jellyfish" At The Baltimore Aquarium...

Upside - Down Jellyfish

Stunningly beautiful !
A gathering of Jellyfish is also called
a "Smack Of Jellyfish".

We spent the day in Baltimore, Maryland.
One of our stops was The Baltimore Aquarium.

This was an overhead snap of the new
Blacktip Reef Exhibit.
The exhibit holds 265,000 gallons
of carefully maintained salt water.
It is "home" for the Blacktip Reef Shark,
and 65 different animal species.

For a live video cam, go to Black Tip Reef Exhibit...
(give it a minute to load)

This is Calypso, a Sea Turtle, who also lives
in the Blacktip Reef.
This picture does not even begin to show how
huge this Sea Turtle is...
But, the following picture does !

A diver is feeding romaine lettuce to Calypso.
The turtle is easily as large as the man !

This gorgeous Jellyfish display greeted
and guided us to the "Jellies Invasion",
a stunning exhibit of 9 different Jellyfish species.

Mesmerizing...

Pacific Sea Nettle Jellyfish

The 'Jellies Invasion' is a temporary exhibit.
It was one of the highlights of the day...
beautiful and calming to watch.

Enjoy your day !

  2. I love looking at the jellyfish. I grew up by the ocean so they were plentiful but not quite as exotic looking as some of those. However they are not quite as enjoyable when one sneaks up around you during a swim. Ouch!

  3. These pics are stunning, Rose! I'm betting the aquarium would want them for their brochures! Looks like you had a wonderful, and calming, day!

  7. Hi Rose-
Stopping in for a long overdue visit with you this morning.
The Baltimore Aquarium looks like a lovely place to visit. I love going to aquariums. I've been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium several times, but it has been quite some time since I have been there, seeing your pictures has sparked an interest for me to have another visit there in the near future.
I hope your white Pumpkins are coming along well for you, they certainly are beautiful.
Looks like you are keeping busy, as I love the wool penny sheep you are working on, and the adorable turtle.
I think the Perle cotton colors are fabulous, and your needle punch is such beautiful work.
What a lovely idea, using the handkerchiefs on the tops of the jars. Something I hadn't thought of before.
I adore the juvenile quilt pattern, it is so cute.
I'm off to the fabric store this morning for some quilt batting, as I have finally finished a quilt I started at the beginning of the year!
    Have a very good day.
    I'll see you again soon.

p.s. I love your charming town of Lititz, and would someday love to have a visit.
