Garden Flowers And Punch Needle...

Just when the gardens are beginning to wane in August,
the Cleome is making a big statement in the garden.
(Actually, maybe the gardens aren't waning,
but my interest for pulling weeds is. ;)

This humble flower grows tall, (mine get 3-4 feet high),
and blooms until killing frost.

The best part is I do not plant these beauties.
They come up every year by themselves.
Their seeds are stored in long slender bean pods,
that split open when dry.
The tiny seeds fall to the ground for next year.

Now, who doesn't like self seeding, beautiful flowers ??

A look at what I have been working on...
A new Punch Needle pattern, perfect for Autumn.
Be looking for a giveaway, just as soon as I have this project complete. ;)

Happily stitching (punching)...

  3. How beautiful the Cleome and how fortunate you are to have such a beauty that takes care of itself. I'm over all the weed pulling myself. It is a never-ending job with all the rain we have been getting here in south Florida.

I love the look of punch needle but I've never tried it. Can't wait to see what you create.

  5. I have never seen those flowers before I love that color so I will be looking for some of those. It is hard to find flowers in August. Your punch needle is fantastic. I really enjoy looking at your work.
