His eye is on the Sparrow...

Several people are stitching along with
this counted cross stitch project.
I've had a few questions, so I thought it might
be helpful to answer them here.

I am working on 28ct Cashel Linen in the
 "Country Mocha" finish.
I like a slightly more pronounced stitch,
so I am using 2 threads over 2.

I haven't changed any of the colors
that the Designer, Beth Twist, has chosen.
She does offer a DMC conversion,
for those that prefer to use DMC...
however, be aware that using DMC instead
of the hand dyed threads will change the overall
"Old World" look that this piece offers.

I am stitching this piece using a 12 in. hoop.
I tend to have more trouble counting threads,
when I stitch out of hand, so a hoop is perfect
for me.  (An Ott light is seriously needed, too !)
Having said that, you can choose to stitch
any way that feels comfortable to you.

  1. It is stunning and delicate. I used to do crewel stitchery but never had the nerve or desire to do cross stitch ~ too tiny for my eyes and hands.

  2. Goodness, Rose! You are coming right along... I don't think it will take you a year to stitch. This is beautiful... wonderful handwork by you, and wonderful designer. Can't wait to see it complete! :)

  3. Oh my goodness you got the basket of flowers! It looks fantastic! That cow took a long time for me. I am down to the next row, but lost a day yesterday due to a migraine.
I can't believe how much you have accomplished. I love seeing your progress.

  4. Your work is lovely. Where did you find the list of symbols and the colors that correspond.
