His eye is on the Sparrow...

My work has slowed on this project,
which is okay and I expected that would happen
with the change in weather.
It's hard to stitch when it's sunny and warm outside.

~
I enjoy gardening almost as much as
I enjoy stitching...almost.

I try to work on this very large piece
about 3 times a week, for 45 min. at a sitting.

I now have almost 1/4 of the design completed.
(almost !)

Several people are stitching along with this piece.
For me, the more challenging part of this design,
clearly was the large flower basket.
But, I also had to tear out the leafy oval above
the main part of the house, at least 3 times !

My favorite part, thus far,
is that folky old steer.  He is very fun.

Foxglove

My foxglove is in it's full glory...

Foxglove

Every year these plants show up
and bloom like there is no tomorrow.

Foxglove

At the end of the blooming season,
they drop their seeds and new plants emerge
during the summer.  Next summer those new
plants will bloom and do the same thing.
So we never run out of foxglove, year after year !

Foxglove

I love their randomness...
kind of messy, cottage look.
They sprout and bloom wherever
they chose and they don't like to be moved.

day by day
nothing changes
but when you look back
everything is different..."

Make the most of your day.

  1. Your foxglove is just beautiful. I never can get mine to look like that. I love that look too.
You have got so much done on His Eye. I don't think I have picked mine up since May began and here we are to June. The house is wonderful. We bought paint to paint our upstairs so it might be awhile now too. I love how bright the colors are. You have done such a great job Rose.

  3. Oh my, this is so beautiful.
Im loving your foxglove, no luck with them here. I'll have to love my hollyhocks instead.

  4. Your piece is coming along nicely, it's interested all the varied scale changes the designer chose to depict. Who would think of such a large scale dog compared to not only the house but loom over the horse and steer!

Love the photos of the foxglove, I think my favourite is the pink with hint of yellow on the top blooms.

  5. That is some serious progress on your stitching! I find it difficult to sit in the house when the sun is shining too... perhaps when the humidity of August gets here, we'll be content to sit inside and stitch in the a/c? :-) LOVE those foxgloves!

  6. Your piece is lovely. I really like your stitch tension consistency, something that I struggle with now and then. It will be beautiful. I received my beautiful wool squares earlier in the week and they are exactly what I needed to cut more pennies, thank you. When the sun shines the needles rest here! Have a lovely weekend, we are dancing between the off and on rain, all day, all day. My foxglove is all in bloom too, love it.

My foxglove did not come back either. I only had a couple and now there are none :(
    Happy Sunday to you.
