A little bit of hand embroidery to connect
the wool petals...
Once the embroidery is complete,
I pinned the center panel to the deep cinnamon wool.
This runner is just under 45 inches long x 7 inches wide.
The center panel was blanket stitched in place,
starting at a short side. I used Valdani
variegated Perle Cotton Thread in Chocolate Brownies
to assemble the wool table runner.
Copper Cinnamon colored wool and
Chocolate Brownies Perle Cotton - LOVE !
The edge is a self binding...
I simply folded the sides of the wool backing
to the front and blanket stitched in place.
I did it the easy way and just folded over
an inch or two at a time and pinned in place.
When I blanket stitched to that point,
I would then fold over another inch or two.
This allows you more control when working with
a very long side.
Before pinning the center panel onto the
wool backing, I hand embroidered simple
initials and the year onto the back.
