Counted Cross Stitch Progress...

Counted Cross Stitch Design by Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery - stitched by Rose Clay from ThreeSheepStudio.com

As summer is wearing on, I have once again
started to pick up and work on
"His Eye Is On The Sparrow" cross stitch design,
by Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery.

It feels good to have it in my hand again.
It's like an old friend at the end of the day...
relaxing and easy... one motif at a time.

I keep this piece at my stitching chair, so that I
can pick it up readily and work on it,
even when I only have a short amount of time.

Working with hand dyed threads is always a pleasure,
because the finished product is never the same..but rather
holds plenty of movement and is instantly aged.

I took this picture today.
What ??  Let's get a closer look...

This thermometer is just outside my kitchen window.
Really ???  This is Pennsylvania...on the East coast !
Unbelievable !

Hope wherever you are,
you're staying cool...
I refilled my birdbath twice today,
so that the birds would have cool water
to drink and splash around in.  ;)

  3. Oh my goodness!!!! You aren't supposed to be that hot. You have humidity which makes it so much more worse. Well stay cool.
I love your progress!!! I just finished that thing, that terrible thing that the date and initials go into. It took three days. :) I am working on the houses. Yay!!! Your colors are so vibrant. I was showing Ron how cool yours looked and he thought it was so awesome too. Stay cool this weekend. That is kind of alarming.

  4. I was wondering how your sampler was going. We haven't seen it for a while. It is beautiful. I am in Camp Hill, PA and this humitity is a killer. Tomorrow, Sunday, if you are interested, our rug hooking group will be demonstrating our craft at the John Harris Mansion on South Front Street in Harrisburg. The historical society is celebrating two hundred and fifty years of the mansion. Should be fun.

  5. Weve been in from heat and humidity for so long now and rain. Not great for breathing.
    The garden is done.

I know that sampler is big but to see it on your chair..its BIG.
    So amazing.

  6. Such a project! Maybe I should follow your lead and attempt a large sampler by working on it slowly and keeping it within reach. But away from the chocolate.

  7. I took a photo this morning before 7 a.m. and the thermostat said it was 81 degrees already outside. Will take another picture later today as the heat rises. Humidity is off the charts and extremely oppressive outside.

  8. Wow! Showing the sampler draped over a chair really puts the size of it into perspective! I had no idea! You are making great progress on it! Here in Central NJ we are at the same level of heat and humidity... even I thought it would be cooler out in PA...;-) Did you hear anything about the Lititz Street Fair?

  9. Oh boy! I agree with the size comments; now I want to do it even more. Maybe, Lord willing, I'll give it to myself for Christmas. We're sweltering on the West Coast too (minus the humidity, at least in Eastern WA inland..Lord have mercy!). Being a Montana gal, I can't wait for autumn! Thanks for sharing your progress and great photos!!
