Tubs of hand dyed wool scraps...
A large bag of 4 inch pins...
~ Penny Pins are in the making. ~
When I start cutting and trimming pennies,
I just cannot stop until I get a large stash to work with.
You can never have too many pennies...
You can never have too many pennies...
All hand cut...their imperfections add charm !
Nothing cookie cutter about them.
Perfect for a jacket or just as happy
on a tote bag. They can also easily hold a
large scarf or shawl, in place.
Colorful and playful items to 'grab and go'
for the Lititz Artisans' Porchwalk.

By Sunday, we are expecting a BIG cool down,
from the heat and humidity we have been having.
May you have a wonderful September weekend.

Very pretty pins and bet they will be good sellers. Are the square sections double or single layer of wool? Reason I'm asking is am wondering if the little tab is between the two layers or if the edges are on the back.
ReplyDeleteHi Saundra...
DeleteAnswering your questions here, in case others are wondering also !
The small hanging tab is nestled between two layers of wool fabric.

these are really beautiful, will you be selling them on etsy
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie...
DeleteI have made the Penny Pins to sell, both at the Lititz Porchwalk and in an online show, right here on my blog, in the not too distant future ! Thanks for your interest.
Have a wonderful weekend.

You always amaze me with your creations. The pins will be great on shawls scarves jackets..so many things.
ReplyDeleteWow Rose, how wonderful those are and how they turned out. I always wanted one of those skirts with that giant pin when I was a girl.
ReplyDeleteI love how you are using them with your pennies.
I wish I could go to your show. I am also excited that you finally get a cool down. Have a lovely weekend.
So beautiful. I love it...

ReplyDelete♥ Rose, your Penny Pins are absolutely charming! Such a unique way to use pennies! I'm with you when it comes to cutting by hand; I think it looks so much better than a perfectly precise cut edge. Ironically though, I'm always trying to achieve precision in my blanket stitching!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will have some to sell here on your blog; I'd love to get a few for Christmas gifts. My favorite is in the lower left corner of the photo with your blue glasses (love those!).
Have a great time at the Lititz Porchwalk; I wish I wasn't clear across the country so I could go! Every year about this time I start seeing all of the wonderful fall events in your area, and I find myself getting impatient, waiting for my husband to retire, so we can hit the road and attend some of them.
Thank you for sharing your latest creation with us . . . . and here's wishing you cooler weather ahead! Warm Regards, Lisa in Oregon ♥
Sweet. You come up with the best ideas ~ stitched to perfection!
ReplyDeleteHugs :)

I have a couple of those types of pins that I got when I purchased thrift store pleated wool skirts. Sure glad I saved them! LOL So cute!
