My New Scissors...

A cheerful Monday morning to you !

It's a cold, blustery day here.
The day started at 34 degrees and
has quickly dropped to 26 degrees.
Crunchy ice is everywhere.

I spent my Super Bowl weekend
enjoying good food, family
and stitching non-stop !

I've been really enjoying work on

Opening night of the Winter Olympics
is this Friday...
I always try to have a project or two lined up
to work on while watching the Olympics.
~*~ Wouldn't want to just sit there with idle hands ! ~*~
My plan is to stitch a large chunk of this
HUGE design.

Over the weekend,
I managed to break away and get to
a local stitching store... Stitches Unlimited.
I found this lovely pair of scissors.

****How can a new stitching accessory
make you want to stitch more ??****
Well it does !
Loving this new scissors with it's needle sharp
and slightly curved tip !

We have more snow on the way this week.
Stay warm and cozy...

  1. I looked around my sewing table and yikes, I must be addicted to scissors, love the colored handles on them. Your Eye is on the Sparrow is growing and such a beauty.
Snow in our week, maybe it will miss us.
I always like a project just for the Olympics too, but nothing like this that I would have to watch...just not that coordinated.
I have a xstitch doll I drew and stitched and made most of it up as I went along,..it says 7-1996 so that was the Summer Olympics.
I still can't believe I did this cute girl. I can no longer xstitch and it was my favorite.
    Happy stitching

  2. Sparrow is looking wonderful, Rose. I have begun, in earnest, to stitch this beauty. I have hardly made a dent, but have enjoyed every stitch...I'm hoping that joy continues. I have decided the only way I can accomplish this ambitious project is to stay off the computer and limit the number of projects I take on. So far, my strategy has been successful...fingers crossed!
    Have a great week,
    Robyn

  4. I like the fancy scissors but also the very simple lines of these. Very nice. But what do I have? The titanium styles from Pat Catan with rubbery grips!

  5. I am so happy you have made it to the second bird. Good job!! I am on that same page right now. Isn't it nice to be able to see the end in sight? I love this more and more. I love your new scissors. I could buy new ones every time I go shopping. More snow? Stay warm. I love seeing your progress.

  8. I am in awe of your patience with "Sparrow!" It is beautiful. I have my work-box ready for the Olympics as well, it seems we all think alike. It just happens to be your 8 pointed Civil War Pincushion :)My current favorite scissors are the 3 1/2 inch Kai embroidery with curved tip. They are in the box, ready to go.
