Golden Yarrow
Good Morning !
It's a chilly morning here and the sun
just isn't sure if it wants to make an appearance.
As I settle in with a cup of coffee and
some avocado toast (yum)...
I wanted to show you
what I have been working on.
I've been adding some hand embroidery
around my punched Spring Lamb.
Using the same Valdani colors
I used to punch the cherry blossom,
I brought the design out into
the border with embroidery.
Periwinkle Blooms
Very simple little stitches.
Open Blanket Stitch,Satin Stitch,
Back Stitch, Colonial Knots
and Picot Stitch
and Picot Stitch
I used a water erasable fine line
marking pen to transfer my design.
When I completed the embroidery,
I simply misted the area and then blotted it
with a clean cloth. All the markings disappeared.
I'd love to hear what YOUR favorite
Marking Pen is !
Marking Pen is !
Have a beautifully creative day !

Can't wait to see the finished project. I love how you added your stitching on this. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteYour work is always stunning and creative.
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty in once project. Loving that sweet lamb.
Blessings.
How very lovely !!!! No water marks found after the piece dried ? Thank you for your inspiration !
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela...
DeleteI embroidered this piece shortly after using the erasable marking pen.
There were no markings remaining after I misted with water. I have heard others say the longer you leave the markings on the cloth, the harder they are to remove, but I have not had that experience.
I use that same kind of pen. I love that pattern and the wonderful stitching. You are so creative Rose.
ReplyDeleteOh my! I love how the embroidery continues where the punching left off! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIf it's a large embroidery, I use the Micron pen in similar color to the thread. If it's a small piece I just mark lightly with a pencil.
You are so creative!!! Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid idea ... Love the embroidery touch... Just too charming.
