Choosing wool for a finish...
Sometimes the most unlikely patterns
are perfect together.
For pillows, needlekeepers
and other sewing projects,
I will often use a rotary cutter on my wool
to get a clean straight edge to work with.
And other times, I will simply tear the wool.
And other times, I will simply tear the wool.
I love to work with this Honeycomb wool,
the color and texture are a perfect combination.
The Honeycomb wool will frame
'Seaside Fancy'.
The wool coaxes out the caramel color
in this Punchneedle piece
and makes the blues 'sing'...

My plan is to place the framed
punchneedle piece on a block of
teal plaid.
Stitching through the week ;)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's fun to play with color! :-)
ReplyDeleteMorning Rose
ReplyDeleteWow love playing with color too.
Beautiful seaside friends and I just love the pumpkin mat below.
I have pumpkins on the brain.
Such fun.

It is beautiful Rose. I am so glad you are having some nice stitching time.
ReplyDeleteI do love wool so much. I love how that background looks against your punching.
I really love those colors.
I love the textures here. Such pretty colors too. I really wish I had time to learn how to needle punch. You share such inspiring pieces of work.
ReplyDeleteThe fun part is finding the perfect coordinating fabrics and you've done a great job.
ReplyDeleteI love honeycomb wool. AND, btw, that blue textured wool is what I'm using in my leaves and stems in the rug I'm working on. Great texture with lots of possibilities.

Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteDear Rose, as always you inspire. I have a collection of wool circles left over from another project and have been wondering what to do with them. Your wool pincushion has just given me the answer to favors to make for my weekly quilting group. Thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm never disappointed when I stop by! This project is beautiful and I especially love the plaid wools. That pin cushion is a must have in my book. Thanks for your continued inspiration Rose. I think I'll find myself getting back to my wool evening sewing. (June was a crazy month!) V
