Sometime ago, I shared that my #2 daughter
and her husband, live on a working Amish Farmstead.
This farm takes me back to a simpler time.
Come, take a look...
Each time we visit, I like to meander around
the farm and "take in" the sights.
Individual names above the respective 'tack'
for each horse.
Huge tractor wheels with metal treads
for the fields.
Barn Kitties, everywhere.
Playful children.
Tobacco, gleaming in the late afternoon sun.
Fields, as far as the eye can see.
Love the texture of these corn stalk roots.
Old feed trough, worn by decades of use.
Enjoy these beautiful summer days...

How fun!!! I love all of the textures you found. I love that feed trough. That is so cool. Also barn kitties. :)
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the simpler life. I didn't grow up on an Amish farm but do come from a basic roots family who did raise pigs, gardens, my grandfather plowed his section of land with a horse and plow. Each summer my brother and I would go stay with out uncle on his farm which was pigs, dairy, and all sorts of vegetables growing in the ground. We were the help to dig potatoes one year. Glad I had a chance to experience that life and know it. Thanks for taking me back in time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures.
ReplyDeletewe have Amish around our area and they come to Farmers market. I seeing the babies in their little black bonnets at Walmart.
ReplyDeleteI envy their simple life but then see their buggy tied outside the store and dont envy that.
As usual your photos tell volumes, even corn stalk roots...you have a great eye.
thank you for sharing.
Great shots! The kitten and the little boy are my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad I got to meet you at the guild meeting, but sad that it's so far from me. That time of night, I just want to be home and comfy. Guess I'm old. :)
