(Do you see the subtle color variation in the blanket stitch on the Weavers Cloth ??)
I love the charm of wool pennies !
Not perfectly "die cut" pennies,
but the ones that are cut and trimmed by hand,
just like "back in the day".
(that's how my girls describe anything
that is old - "back in the day" !!)
These wool pennies are on the smaller side.
I used them to frame my "Pumpkin Spice"
punch needle design, done on 'Maple Cream'
Valdani variegated perle cotton thread was
used to punch the pumpkin and then
to Blanket Stitch the 'Maple Cream'
Weavers Cloth onto wool fabric.
This Charm Cushion has a wool back
to match the front and was Blanket Stitched
in place using the same Valdani variegated
perle cotton thread.

These are a few of our 'pumpkin finds'
at the pumpkin patch.
Lumpy, bumpy pumpkins are the best !
Have yourself a pumpkiny sort of day...

Love the way you finished your pumpkin. Love the colors. I just ordered the pattern and weavers cloth so I can do the same.
ReplyDeleteYour blanket stitches are so perfect they don't look as tho they were done by human hands. Beautiful job and love the pumpkin and colors of everything.
ReplyDeleteAdorable charm pillow. Nothing says fall like lumpy bumpy pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI love the blanket stitch around the edge - it makes it look so 'comfy.' Also your lumpy-bumpies are beautiful:)

ReplyDeleteLooove the new pin project!
ReplyDeleteI never use a die cutter for my pennies...all free hand - that's what makes it so beautiful and as you say it looks like 'back in the day', so true.
