It's Not All Fun And Games...

'His eye is on the Sparrow' counted cross stitch design by Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery
'His eye is on the Sparrow' design from Beth Twist

My husband used to have a Tshirt that read...
"It's all fun and games
until someone knocks an eye out."
The kids and I used to laugh every time
he wore the shirt.

I was moving right along, (fun and games), on
'His eye is on the Sparrow' sampler...
until my 'count'
just didn't add up !
Ugh !

Lots and lots of this...
(no relaxation this week !)

I just love all of the little motifs...
birds, flowers, cows, horses

The colors are weathered and old looking.

Toffee is one of my favorite shades
used in this piece.

Moving right along...

  1. Oh it looks amazing!!! You have got so far. I am on that flower basket and I have frogged this more than anything I have done yet. I hope to get back to it in earnest soon. I love seeing your progress. Each little design you have done is just amazing.
I have real progress on my garden beds though. :) I love everything about His Eye is on the Sparrow. Oh, I would laugh about that shirt too, that is cute!

  2. I knew you must have the patience of Job, Rose. This proves it! It is beautiful.

  3. Are you stitching it on the 28 ct. linen she called for? Do you know what size it will finish on that count? I know that count would go faster but I would like to stitch on a smaller count. Thanks, Nancy P.

  4. I think it is nice and wouldn't have noticed. That said however, is exactly the reason I could never ever do counted cross stitch. Plus the fact it is just too tedious for me.
