Often when working on finishing projects,
I place a lot of time into how I want something
to look when complete, but don't get around
to making the labels.
I'm starting to accumulate a list of
projects that need labels...
punch needle, rug hooking, wool applique

First on the list -
Labels for the back of two hornbooks.
"A Mother's Watch" punch needle design.
Punched with Valdani Perle Cotton.
Last year, I released a punch needle design,
but wasn't quite sure how I wanted to 'finish'
it. I decided I liked the hornbook idea,
so I ordered another hornbook from the very
talented Tara at Perfect Prim Punch.
"1787 Fraktur" punch needle design.
Punched with Valdani Perle Cotton.
I painted the hornbook, (my 13 y.o. son picked out
the color to match a shade in the wing),
and then I stitched up a label for the back.
Two projects crossed off the list !
I need to downsize my gardens...
nah, that's not going to happen !
Good thing my husband loves to spread mulch. ;)
Be safe and enjoy the holiday weekend...

Good heaves Rose! Must you really do everything to perfection??? Cannot believe the stitched labels; you put me and many others to shame!
ReplyDeleteOMG, the word was supposed to be HEAVEN! Sorry.
ReplyDeleteGreat labels! We are doing the mulch thing also----but in the NW it's called bark dust. We had 10 yards delivered, got about 2 1/2 yds left. Since my beds are tight with plants we found it much easier to fill 5 gal buckets and dump in between then very little spreading in needed. The wheelbarrow is too large to get in between with out damaging the plants. Hope it doesn't get too hot for your yard work.

ReplyDeleteWhat is it with men and mulch? I have a few neighbor fellows who love the stuff! Have a great weekend!

...."Be Thee Grateful for the Mulcher!" Mine no longer has the passion, it is now a dreaded chore. It will look so nice when completed. You are so right with labels. I should do the same thing with my quilts, I think about it, even purchased special soft ware to make them.......... Your label is so precise and again illustrates your amazing talent. Thanks for the nudge.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful labels Rose. I love your horn books as well. I am glad you posted where you buy them. Thank you. Oh my gosh!!! I love your whole truck load of mulch. Isn't it nice our sweet hubby's love to use mulch. Yes, gardens are so nice to play in this time of year. Did you manage to plant any white pumpkins this year? I never got around to planting my pumpkins. Have a wonderful 4th!
ReplyDeleteYour labels are perfection!!! I'm lucky if I get computers labels made...lol!
ReplyDeleteFresh mulch is so pretty...but smells so bad for a few days.
Happy 4th to you.
Hugs :)
Lauren

ReplyDeleteAnd the best of luck with all the mulch. I do love gardening myself, and would happily spread that about!
