Today is overflowing with warm sunshine
and cool breezes... just like a summertime day.
In fact, in the days coming, we are expected
to get into the high 80's.
The end of September...
time for a visit to the Pumpkin Farm.
As soon as I spied these *GORGEOUS*
gourds, I knew they were mine !
~ BEAUTIFUL ~
Long Handle Dipper Gourds
Perfectly dried and natural.
(Natural, meaning not finished with shellac
or any other chemical)
Out came the wool,
a snip here, a stitch there...
Hoot, hoot...
a wooly owl and a full moon.
A hand torn strip of
hand dyed wool, tops each of these
long handle Dipper Gourds.
(I placed a small wire loop at the top of each,
for conveniently hanging.)
Each measures just a tad over 2 foot.
These Dipper Gourds will be at the
19th Annual Artisans' Porchwalk in Lititz
on September 29 and 30.
Approximately 40 Juried Artists and Craftsmen,
sprinkled throughout
the Historic small town of Lititz !

The Porchwalk sounds like so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteFun finish on the gourds and I love those little pumpkins hanging from the split rail fence.

I have painted and decoupaged gourds but your wool stitching is beautiful on them. You constantly amaze me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, I really need to find some seeds for those. They are so cool. You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful how you decorated the gourds. So creative.
ReplyDeletethey are wonderful! I have a collection of unusual gourds too.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the number for Chocolate brownies. Must have it. Do you know what the wool is on the pillow? So beautiful. I am a hooker and would love to use that wool. You are so inspiring...now if I could only have half your talent for color I'd be thrilled. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Krissy...
DeleteValdani Perle Cotton Thread in the shade of Chocolate Brownies is #M90. It is a beautiful variegated thread ! The wool used for the pillow for the "In The Patch" punch needle design is either from The Wool Studio or Heavens To Betsy.
