My work continues on
'His eye is on the Sparrow' cross stitch
by Beth Twist...
As I cross stitch a few rows, I will
use a highlighter and color in the rows
I have completed. This helps me to quickly find
my place when counting.
But, for the Fawn in this design,
my place when counting.
But, for the Fawn in this design,
I am using a little reverse thinking to make
it easier. I have highlighted all of the fawn's spots,
(and eye area), BEFORE stitching,
so that they are easier to see.
so that they are easier to see.
I then stitched the 'spots'.
After the 'spots' were in place,
I only had to fill in the Fawn...
no counting at all.
This larger motif turned out to be
quick and easy using this simple technique.
I have been stitching on this design
about 2 hours in the evening...
one motif at a time.
When I started this project, I thought I would
stitch 30 minutes on most days.
I keep it at my 'stitching chair',
and it has been so relaxing to work on.
A great way to end the day.
Spring is clearly on it's way...
Enjoy the fresh air and warmer temperatures !
(I even had a window or two open this afternoon!)

ReplyDeleteI was hoping for an update. THANK YOU! Your progress is wonderful. I hope you can keep it up. Great that you can find that much stitching time in the evening.
61* in Ohio today and tomorrow is supposed to be even better.
Hugs :)

Great idea stitching the spots first Rose. I have set my cross stitch aside for a couple months, need to get new specs I think, the magnifier on my lamp seems to make it worse. I think I need to return to paint by number cross stitch! Your project is beautiful. Your thread tension is just right.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! Always a great idea to find stitching time
ReplyDeleteOh you are tempting me to start mine!!! You know my new life rule...life is short so eat the cupcake, buy the shoes, start that masterpiece!!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, it is a beautiful and dainty stitchery but neither my fingers nor my eyes would be able to handle that task.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's always relaxing to be able to just sit and stitch... sometimes I count and recount so many times... I feel like a Sesame Street episode! lol! Love this taste of Spring we are having! Just wish I could be outside to enjoy it (no windows in my office area at work)...
