This beautiful project is complete !

'His eye is on the Sparrow'

is a cross stitch design from 

Beth Twist at Heartstring Samplery.

I started this project on Feb. 8, 2016

and ended in Jan. 2019.

Stitch count is 435 x 363

Stitched on 28 ct. Cashel linen in 

'Country Mocha' finish.

I'm sad to see it come to an end.

It has been my 'go to' stitching 

for a long time, and has kept me company

through endless evenings of stitching.

I now need to patiently wait until I can 

(hopefully) locate an old frame large enough

to work with this piece.  

Design size is roughly 31 in. x 26 in.

While at a local thrift store,

I spied this gorgeous wool skirt.

Could not resist !

1.00 for about a half yard of usable wool.

I have just the place for it.

We are enjoying some very beautiful,

warm days here in PA.

Birds are chattering and our little historic town 

is bustling with activity.

a large apple tree.

Apples in two different shades of red...

on 28ct Cashel linen in

'Country Mocha' finish

Just a small amount of border 

to complete...

a finish is in sight !

Vultures And Foxglove...

Now that the cold weather has moved in,
I'm returning to 'His eye is on the Sparrow', 
by Beth Twist.

It is dark at 5 p.m.

The evenings are long and chilly

and this has become my 'go to' evening stitch,
with a cup of warm Spiced Chai tea.

I've been working on finishing out

the border, which I had put aside.

(It was more fun stitching all of the 

different small motifs.)

I have the tree of life, 

Adam and Eve and the serpent to complete
 and just a tad bit of border...

then it's time to go on an adventure 

and find a HUGE frame !

(My hoop is 12 inches to give you

a size comparison.)

Today, in our neighborhood, 

I spotted something I have never seen...

A Black Vulture.

They are smaller then a Turkey Vulture

and much more aggressive.

They attack newborn livestock.

I know they are not a farmer's favorite,

but I have to say, they are quite handsome fellows.

(Very 'unlike' the Turkey Vulture.)

It is mid November...

On Thursday -

they are calling for 3-5 inches of snow,

with ice, here in PA.

But for now, I am enjoying 

this unexpected gift - 
a late blooming Foxglove in my garden.

The stress is building...

Will it ?

It has to !

Did I count correctly ?

(Probably not...)

Will the end meet the beginning ?

When you are stitching the border 

around a very large piece

(31in. x 26in.)

and you are 

HOPING...

PRAYING...

WISHING...

FINGERS CROSSED...

that when you, at finally, get to the 

place you began - that the ends 

are going to 'match up'...

(because if they  don't,

there will be SERIOUS tear out !)

YES !  Success.

(I seriously think I would have thrown 

this piece into a bag until next year,

if it didn't line up !)

I am positively melting !

This fine Monday has brought

a heat advisory...

Temps are between 90-93 for 

the next several days,

with a heat index (feels like)

100 degrees.

I am retreating to my stitching chair,
in the cool...

Setting my sights on finishing 

this piece.

Still have a little ways to go,

but I'm pleased to be this far.

I only work on it in my free time...

(what free time ???)

Granddaughter, (at, of all places - Costco !)
  So sweet.  It seems

everywhere I look this year, all ages

are wearing embroidered jeans again !

(Which suits me perfectly.)

Alpaca "Thread"...

I recently came across these fabulous

threads/fine yarn...  They come in an assortment of 

colors...but I'm dreaming of sheep...

and these shades look like sheep to me.

Beautiful and softer than soft !

My New Scissors...

A cheerful Monday morning to you !

It's a cold, blustery day here.

The day started at 34 degrees and 

has quickly dropped to 26 degrees.

Crunchy ice is everywhere.

I spent my Super Bowl weekend

enjoying good food, family 

and stitching non-stop !

I've been really enjoying work on

'His eye is on the Sparrow'

from Beth Twist at Heartstring Samplery.

Opening night of the Winter Olympics 

is this Friday...

I always try to have a project or two lined up 

to work on while watching the Olympics.

~*~ Wouldn't want to just sit there with idle hands ! ~*~

My plan is to stitch a large chunk of this 

HUGE design.

Over the weekend,

I managed to break away and get to 

a local stitching store... Stitches Unlimited.

I found this lovely pair of scissors.

****How can a new stitching accessory

make you want to stitch more ??****

Well it does !

Loving this new scissors with it's needle sharp 

and slightly curved tip !
