Jolly Old Fellow Punch Needle (With Wool Applique)...

It's a crisp, clear, October Tuesday.

While I am very much still in Autumn mode

and enjoying every moment of this Fall season...

I am aware that many of you like to get

a head start on Winter projects.

I've been working on a punch needle design,
using varying heights of loops...

He is a Jolly one !

I have been waiting for a time to use this 

red mattress ticking.  I purchased it from

JoAnn fabrics.  I prefer the look and feel

of vintage Mattress Ticking, but this will do.

I placed a frayed 'label' on the back,

from my vintage stash...

then Blanket stitched the happy fellow

onto the ticking...

attempted to line up the lines

on the front and back,

(not always an easy task).

The 'Jolly Old Fellow' punch needle design

is in my Studio.

He measures about 9in. x 6in.

He uses a little wool applique 

and a few back stitches.

(There is an option for the hand dyed wool 

to be included.)

He would also look great on a drawstring sack,

(better if filled with gifts !).
