Geometric Wool Hooked Rug

I originally thought I would hook this rug to resemble a Penny Rug - all circles.  But as I began hooking, I realized I wanted  more variables in the rug -
more visual interest, more for the eye to take in.

I hooked this wool rug with hand dyed and mill dyed wool in a #8 cut on Scottish Burlap. It measures 46.5in. x 31in. (118.11cm x 78.74cm)

This Rug hangs in my Dining Room.
The best part ??
It was made entirely from leftover wool strips, from other projects.  The rug was a great way to use up scraps.
Of course, only to make room for more ! ;)

  1. Your work is beautiful! I do not hook, but do embroider on wool, and felt a little, and just found your blog. Truly lovely art!

  2. Hi Kim...
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Always fun to connect with someone else who embroiders on wool.
    Thanks for stopping by. ;)
