How To Make A Beaded Ornament Hanger...

Beaded Ornament Hangers are the perfect Hostess Gift, Teachers Gift
or a special treat for yourself !

I enjoy unpacking my ornaments each year for the holidays.
It seems each one has a story.
Beaded Ornament Hangers are an eye catching touch
to hang that special ornament.
(They can also be used to hang a suncatcher at a window.)

Step 1
  Gather supplies...
*  20 gauge silver wire
*  Assortment of glass beads and crystals
*  Small wire cutter
*  Needle nose pliers

Step 2
 Using the wire cutter, cut a piece of wire to a 7 inch (17.78cm) length.
Straighten, (smooth out), with fingers.

 Step 3
  Using the needle nose pliers, bend one end of wire to form a loop or circle - approximately 1.5 inch (3.81cm) from bottom.
End result will be a straight wire with a loop in it.

Step 4
Approximately 1/4 inch (.64cm) below this "loop", use needle nose pliers
to bend end of wire to form a hook for ornament.
This hook should be 1/2 in. to 3/4 in. (1.27cm to 1.91cm) in length.

Step 5
Select beads and place on wire.
Keep beaded area 1.5 to 2.25 inches. (3.81cm to 5.72cm) in length.

Step 6
With needle nose pliers, bend the top of the wire, directly above the beads,
to form a loop or circle.  End result will be a straight wire with a loop
above the beads.  (The loop keeps the beads snugly in place.)

Step 7
With remaining wire at top of hanger - smooth wire over finger
to form a rounded hanger.  (This part will be placed on tree branch.)
Tip: Position "hook" on top of ornament hanger facing the OPPOSITE direction from "hook" on bottom of ornament hanger.
(This is determined by which direction you "twirl" your "loops",
that are located below and above the beads.)

Step 8
Use needle nose pliers to "twirl" end of hanger into a "snail shell".
Twirl "snail shell" outward - away from hanger.
This places a nice finished edge on end of wire.
Tip:  May need to trim end of wire prior to "twirling" into "snail shell",
if wire is too long.

You have now completed a Beaded Ornament Hanger !

Enjoy your day.
