Three Things Sampler...

'Three Things Sampler' - design by Moire Blackburn - stitched by Rose Clay at ThreeSheepStudio.com

Starting off the week with new
floss and linen...

Since finishing 'His eye is on the Sparrow',
I have been looking for a new 'long term' project
to begin.  I have really enjoyed always
having a stitching project 'at the ready'
to work on.

Delicate small 'rosebuds' frame out
this new project...

I enjoy doing cross stitch in my 'free time',
most evenings for an hour or two (or three).

This design called for DMC,
but I love the variations of the hand dyed floss.

My local Needlework shop
"Stitches Unlimited", helped me to
convert the DMC to Gentle Art and
Weeks Dye Works threads.

This design is beautiful...
I am stitching it on 28ct. Lakeside Linen in
'Meadow Rue',  2 over 2.

Stitch count is 263w x 359h

"Three things there are
that will never come back.
The arrow shot forth
on its destined track.
The appointed hour that
could not wait and
The helpful word that
was spoken too late."

Have a lovely Monday my Friends...

  2. I have been waiting for this post. I am so excited about you doing this. You have made such great progress. I have it in my cart on 123 stitch. I was wondering if you were going to use DMC or other threads. I really love the fabric you are doing it on. I love the verse too. Isn't it funny that after His Eye, big projects just feel better to be working on?
    I love seeing your stitching.

  5. Happy stitching! I too love Weeks embroidery cottons. They come in such great colours and particularly love the variegated ones when I add details to an applique project.

  8. I've been working on Mirabilia's "Comet" the reindeer since 2017. I got set back in the fall of 2017 when Mom had a mini stroke and I didn't stitch on it at all in 2018 because I gave up all crafting when my precious dog died. I'm now crafting again and pulled out Comet. I find borders boring but they definitely look beautiful. I finished Comet and the border and I swear this has a gazillion (exaggerated) snowflakes to do. It's a slow go because of all the beads but he will be so sparkly and beautiful when done. Then I will need to choose between a Mirabilia Mermaid or her Snow Queen to start next. I do smaller projects in between. I don't think I'll ever do a sampler but I do watch Kitten Stitcher and the Striped Rose Flosstubes on You Tube and they and talk about samplers a lot. I love strawberry designs and strawberry pincushions so I love the border! Have fun stitching.

  10. I hope you don't mind me asking, but could you publish or tell me the colors you are using in Three Things Sampler? I have the pattern but the conversion is holding me back. I don't want to use the DMC. Hope my question is not rude. I love the colors you showed.
