A Simple Way To Cut Wool Pennies...

A "Penny" refers to a round circle of wool,
traditionally cut using coins or a "Penny" as a template.
These circles were a wonderful way to use scraps of wool
to "make something from nothing".

There are many different ways to cut Pennies...
For me, this is a quick, efficient method that yields
wonderful and charming Wool Pennies, by the oodles, with little effort. ;)

Gather your supplies...

Wool and scissors

My supplies of choice ??

Juice can lid (from a frozen concentrate can), baby food jar lid
and plenty of different sizes of coins.

Place a coin or lid of choice on your wool fabric.

Holding the coin in your hand, use a sharp scissors to cut around the coin.

Nothing fancy here...you can make very quick business of it !

After cutting out the Penny, lightly trim edges of Penny, as needed, to shape.

I love the slight variations that each Penny has,
which add to it's traditional charm !

Pennies can be used in so many different ways...
