A 'finishing' idea for a punchneedle
project...
This book would make a great journal,
photo album or maybe a scrapbook,
a guest book or a sketching book.
a guest book or a sketching book.
This is a 'Pro Art' book. It measures 9in. x 11in.
(22.86cm x 28.04cm)
It has 80 snow white pages of medium weight
art quality paper.
(These books are available at many craft stores,
such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby or online,
at a reasonable price.)
Upon completing your punchneedle piece,
press with an iron.
Trim edges of Weavers Cloth
to approximately1.25 inches.
Fold Weavers Cloth to back of piece
and press with an iron.
Secure the Weavers Cloth to the back of your piece,
using a good fabric adhesive like
Elmer's Craft Bond Fabric and Paper Glue.
Allow to dry.
Spread a good adhesive over
the entire back of Punchneedle piece,
center / position on cover of
the book of your choice.
(A few adhesive choices...
Elmer's Craft Bond Fabric and Paper Glue,
E6000 or Fabri-Tac.)
Press into place and allow to dry.
This 'finish' would look
amazing with Vintage
and yard sale books.

on this Punch Needle design,
Beautiful idea Rose...I've done that with photo albums but never thought of it for a journal! Beautiful needle punch. You always have great projects!
ReplyDeleteDarn it Rose. I love all your needlepunch pieces and when I visit your blog am reminded that I haven't punched in months. Guess I'll not be able to have a nice pin, book cover, box cover or anything lovely unless I pull out my punch needles and thread, huh? One day.

ReplyDeleteI am not good at finishing!! So I just keep punching & stitching anyway!! It's so intimidating but I do think I could do the beaded blanket stitch so I'm going to give it a try. Otherwise I just back then with wool & call it done....lazy!!
ReplyDeletethe book is made so much more special with the addition of your punchneedle work. something I have never tried. I love to see something different (to me)
