Monday mornings are my "coffee and lunch out"
with my number 2 daughter.
I really treasure these times with my daughter.
They started as just a "coffee out" and then turned
into a long list of things we want to see and do
on Mondays.
Today, we ended up at the used furniture store.
Sometimes I score a find and other times I turn up nothing.
Today I found two items to repurpose.
I am loving this little bench.
33in. long x 14in. high x 9.5in. wide.
The BEST part is the top of the bench
comes off and can easily be recovered with...
wool applique ? rug hooking ?
A box on legs !
A little paint and some
Punchneedle Embroidery for the lid...
Perfect.
This stands 20 in. high
(with the lid closed)
(with the lid closed)
The Box part is 12in. x 14in. and is 7in. deep.
(a nice size to store fiber related items,
or maybe my stash of chocolate !)
or maybe my stash of chocolate !)
Built well and worthy of a second life.
These will be on hold until I get a few other
projects completed.
So many projects and not nearly enough time.
Hope your week is off to a good start...
Rose

ReplyDeleteWow! Can I be daughter number 3? lol! ;-) You guys found some awesome pieces! Hooked rug for the bench... definitely... I think it would wear better if folks sat on it regularly... and how I would LOVE to have that box on legs... i'd fill it with floss and wool... AND chocolate! ;-)

Wonderful finds! I think a hooked rug on the bench would be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEthan Allen.......that's good stuff!!! Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a day!! Families are forever!
ReplyDeleteLovely finds...I would have made the same purchases. Your box on a stand has given me an idea. A couple of years ago, I found an old wooden bread box at a thrift store. It is still waiting for me to give it some careful attention. I think now, I will be looking for a base stand for it. Thanks for today's post.
