Wool Applique and Punch Needle Embroidery...
Two of my favorite things, brought together in one design !
This mixed media piece uses
Valdani variegated Perle Cotton Thread along with
rich, yummy shades of hand dyed wool fabric
in plaids, windowpanes and solids,

Bittersweet and pokeberry curl around a white pumpkin.
I love white pumpkins. Maybe it is their calming,
creamy neutral shades, that commands attention.
I always dream
of doing an all white Autumn display...
(but then when the actual time draws near,
I can't resist all of the spicey colors !)
Hmmm...maybe this year.

ReplyDeleteThat is just so lovely!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous colors and design; and well your punching is perfect! I'd have unruly threads popping up from catching them with the needle. You always make things look so easy to do.
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of wool applique and punchneedle embroidery. Never seen it before but it makes a gorgeous piece.
ReplyDeleteI think this one is just so pretty. Did you grow any white pumpkins this year? I love your colors that you chose. Those colors are so rich.
ReplyDeleteI do love fall.

How cute those little loops are. Still haven't tried punching and may never get to it. I love the white pumpkins too but those odd flat light green and apricot are closing in.
ReplyDeleteThis one is lovely! love the white pumpkin and all the colors you put together. I want to try this one.
ReplyDeleteOh, they go great together. Such talent...sigh.
