~ August ~
My pumpkin vine is sporting the most gorgeous
large golden flowers...
but, NO pumpkins !
It seems between the squirrels and the skunks,
there is not a one wee pumpkin that survives.
I'll simply have to be happy to have
sunny blooms greet me each morning.
More time is spent indoors sewing.

This is a beautiful design on 28ct. Cashel linen

I'm a little more than halfway finished,
but still have soooo much more to go !
See that lovely tray on the arm of my chair ?

Since purchasing my Stitchers Tray,
from Notforgotten Farm,
it never leaves my side !
'Invaluable' !
This bird is one of my favorites...
the color and size
(compared to the other motifs),
makes me smile.

What a gorgeous piece it will be when completed! Heck! It's gorgeous already!!
ReplyDeleteI have made it to the bird. It sort of overwhelms me with its size. I love seeing it finished. It is such a lovely pattern. I am so glad you are doing it too. I have some pumpkins but I would say that I am having the same problems too. Blooms but no fruit.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of August Rose.
So lovely. What do you use to keep place from the pattern to your linen? I have a small magnetic board with a magnetic strip. What do you use ? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela ...
DeleteI use a magnetic board to hold my pattern. As I stitch, I use a highlighter on the pattern, to show what I have completed.

I bought that tray after seeing yours. I just love it- I got the barn red!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you again. I look forward to your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm still in awe of this gorgeous cross stitch you are working on, it truly will be an heirloom.
I do have pumpkins out there in the weeds according to my husband..I don't go near that part of the gardens. I"m relieved to finally have tomato season over and have canned and froze all I can do this year.
Have peaches and corn in freezer also which is new to us. The apple trees are loaded also this year, so apple butter will be next in another month. I'm getting too old for all this..
It’s gorgeous. I just bought the pattern for my daughter. I am purchasing the materials. Since you are using double strands, did you need double the amount of skeins? I purchased a yard of the Cashel linen.
