I love paisley...
my imagination runs free with
all of those wisps, curls and 'seussical' shapes.
(Dr. Seuss-like shapes ;)

I experimented with depth setting on this piece.
The paisley design is punched
with an "Ultra Punch" punchneedle
set on depth setting #2.
The background is punched on depth setting #1.
Moving the depth setting to #1 for the background,
gives the Paisley Design a very subtle
"stand out" quality.

Punched while watching the Olympic Games...
I love the fresh "watery" colors.

My grandma was a seamstress back in the 60's and she loved paisley. Beautiful work and I like the peek you shared with us of your new project, too.
ReplyDeleteSeaside Fancy is lovely.....and your next project looks fantastic, too! Can't wait to see it! And thanks for that great quote from Leonard Bernstein....it gave me quite a good laugh! :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember if I've ever seen what kind of frame you use for your punching. Just wondering since your pieces often run on the larger size. I'm always a sucker for paisley designs Rose and this new one is so beautiful - the colors are definitely 'watery' like you mentioned. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to get a second job!!! I really like the idea of different settings on the paisley but the sneak peek alphabet scares me!! Lol. I'm not that good yet but I'll give it a try!!
ReplyDeleteSeaside Fancy is a fun piece...happy suessical shapes :)
ReplyDeleteYour new project looks exciting...love the houndstooth border (?)
Hope you are having a great week!
