Valdani Perle Cotton Thread, Czech Glass Beads
We have been having stormy weather for days.
I don't mind one bit...
perfect for drinking tea and stitching.

Punch Needle Embroidery
Often I will complete Punchneedle designs
and then wait until the thought strikes me for
how to finish them. This works for me because I
don't like forcing a finish and not really liking
the outcome.
I love these rich and warm shades of wool
and as soon as I saw them together,
and as soon as I saw them together,
I knew they would work with 'Seaside Fancy'.
The warm honeycomb borders the punchneedle,
while the teal and caramel plaid will cover the pillow.
I am partial to bead work,
however a plain blanket stitch to edge the pillow
would have worked well also.
I like to use Czech Glass Beads, size 6/0,
for finishing edges.
Go to Beaded Blanket Stitch, to learn more.
Punchneedle pillow measures 16in. x 16in.
Both, front and back are covered in wool.
To learn more about finishing into a pillow,
go to Punchneedle Pillow Finish.
There are so many great ways to finish your
punchneedle work. There is no right or wrong way.
Do you have a favorite way to finish ?
Enjoy your day...

Great finish! That teal/caramel wool is a favorite of mine. It hooks up really cool.
ReplyDeleteI wish we'd get some stormy weather. We could surely use it.
Hugs :)

It is so beautiful Rose. I love your finishes. You know the last time I tried beads, I hadn't had my eyeballs fixed so I couldn't see them and it was so terrible the way I sewed and lost them. I will have to try it again and see if I can come up with something. Your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty finish! How many tubes/bottles of beads did your pillow take? I recently bought a couple tubes of black beads - we'll see how long it takes me to try this edge myself....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finish, Rose! The woolens you chose compliment your punched pieced perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! I like all your finishes : ) I also like your cute little WOOL fob : )
ReplyDeleteLOVE your finish on this beautifully done pillow, Rose! The beading is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Linda
waouh! I love it
ReplyDeleteI just love the teal and browns together....esp. that plaid! Your beading is wonderful and makes such a nice finish. I don't really have a favorite finish, but am always inspired by yours! :)
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty. Perfect weather for your project.
