Hand Embroidered Blossoms using Valdani Perle Cotton
I have been stitching up some blossoms.
These are 'Cast On Stitch' roses with Fly Stitch leaves.
I have heard the Cast On Stitch also referred to
as Needle Lace, when used in this way.
I am hand embroidering some gorgeous
soft yellow wool. I plan to make an
Eight Pointed Civil War Pincushion from this wool.
(Certainly, you would think after making 20+ pincushions,
I would stop... not so,
I just can't seem to get them out of my system !)
I have been looking for signs of Spring,
now that the weather has become warmer.
Amazing tulips,
each one heavy with many petals !
I love when the moss takes over items in
my garden. So pretty.
Frilly tulips...
Wild tulips...
A smattering of purple tulips...
Old Fashioned Lilac...
smells heavenly.

What wonderful tulips!!! I love all of the bright flowers. I do love that embroidery stitch! I can't wait to see how it looks on those pincushions.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are enjoying spring.
Oh, I do love your tulips!!! Mine usually don't bloom. I think it's the deer that eat them ~ and I live in the city.

What are you going to do with those lovel blossoms. When I was making those pin cushions I was the same way. Everyone in the family and my hooking group has one. They are lovely. Like the way you covered the pins with pennies. Is the fracur punch needle ready to sell?
ReplyDeleteI am always impressed with your beautiful embroidery stitches but in awe of the roses.
ReplyDeleteI still have a sweater with raised roses stitched around the neck from my childhood.
Your tulips are gorgeous too, its all so fun to see.
Utterly beautiful friend!
ReplyDeleteLove love those darling roses and a home filled with lilacs is the very best.
