Tuesdays Stitches...
A quick repair to may favorite pair of jeans...
(This is from the inside)
Time to add some stitches and mend
this hole that has appeared on an outside seam.
First item is a vine, of sorts,
with Fly stitched leaves and
Interlaced Back stitch stems.
Interlaced Back stitch stems.
I wanted to keep the flowers very neutral,
so I could wear anything with these jeans.
Variegated thread was used throughout.
The flowers are a Picot stitch
with Colonial Knots.
This took me back to the 70's when
everyone was embroidering on jeans
and jean jackets.
I just needed a fix for some holes !
BUT, after completing one pair,
I am seriously hooked.
Looking for more jeans.... ;)

Just out of the oven...
Old Fashioned, soft and chewy,
Molasses cookies with sugar tops !
Sausage and cabbage soup
with warm rolls for dinner.
Sounds like a plan.
(and of course, some serious lazy time
on the Hammock this afternoon)

I love it, Rose! Remember the chambray blue workshirts we all would embroider?!

I really love that vine on your jeans. Oh my goodness, I did that. I had forgot about it. Your dinner sounds wonderful and molasses anything is always a great choice. I hope you have a nice day in the hammock.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks and sounds perfect! now I am looking for my jean jacket to embroider.

Love how you repaired your jeans !!! My daughter has been wearing my embroidered jeans from the 70's for years , everyone wants to buy them !!!
ReplyDeleteBack to the future - I'd seen lots of embroidered pockets and hems in Macy's last year, some down the entire leg. Haven't checked the capris this year but I would say you are in high fashion! And just what I need to salvage my favorites - thank you!! I used to paint vines and stars on mom's jeans and tops to hide the stains.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm....I'm running over to your house for supper! :-) Love those vines on the jeans....why look for new, when you now have "custom designer jeans"? lol! :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful fix on your jeans. A conversation item, for sure. Careful or you may have a new business venture!
